Institutions and State Legitimacy: View the Webcasts and Other Resources
The April 2 USAID symposium on Poverty Reduction in Conflict and Fragile States: Institutions and State Legitimacy brought together academics, practitioners, donors, and military personnel to discuss the role of a society's institutions in conflict and fragile states, including counter-insurgency contexts. View papers, presentations, session summaries, and the webcasts, with presentations by organizations including the U.S. Army Military History Institute, the Institute for State Effectiveness, Human Rights Watch, USAID, and the Department of Defense, and keynote addresses by Ambassador John Herbst and Hernando de Soto.
