Poverty data and measurement, including poverty lines and efforts to track national and international trends in the incidence of poverty;
The contribution of investments in education and health to poverty reduction;
The impacts of labor laws and regulations; and
The impact of risk and vulnerability on the welfare of poor households.
Political Economy
Our Political Economy work includes:
Providing analytical and programmatic support to USAID missions and other offices on poverty and political economic issues;
Advancing understanding of Democratic Governance-Economic Growth linkages within a poverty context, particularly in fragile and conflict environments; and
Promoting a research network focused on poverty issues, including management of PASSN-supported research on poverty issues through the Strategies and Analysis for Growth and Access (SAGA) cooperative agreement with Cornell University.
